I just watched the first episode of the new Wheel of Time adaptation and was disappointed that I was looking for something different and it just so happened to be getting good reviews. It quickly drew me in and I binged the entire season in one sitting. Arcane does everything right that so many shows and movies these days get wrong. They respect all of their characters, making sure you understand why they’re doing what they’re doing, and making you empathize with them. They take enough time to immerse you in the story and world before the main plots really take hold.

The animators deserve special mention

They set everything up ahead of time and make sure you get your due so nothing feels rushed or cheap. And something that’s so rare these days; They are not afraid to assign flaws to all of their characters and let them fail, regardless of their gender or how powerful they are supposed to be. This is a show that features two female protagonists who can beat anyone and neither of them feels undeserving of it. And many times they do not feel the need to humiliate men to show how cool they are. Notice, creators of other shows, that this is how you write powerful characters, regardless of gender, that your viewers can feel invested in.

I also appreciate the choice of voice actors and music, both are top notch

Thank you for the opportunity to create characters who can express strong and subtle feelings more clearly than most real actors. Overall, this is a very enjoyable show that gives hope for future entertainment while waiting for season 2.
