Angelina Jolie’s great lead performance holds this film together well, and I admire how much she invested in this role, especially the operatic singing. The plot is a bit messy and the pacing is a bit off, but I still think the film is entertaining enough to enjoy, and educational about this period and opera in general.
This is a beautifully shot and directed film
I love the editing, and the black and white shots are beautiful. I think this is a solid film from Pablo Larrain, with a possible Oscar-winning performance from Angelina Jolie. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
