Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE follows young factory worker Karoline (Vic Carmen Sonne) as she struggles to survive in post-war Copenhagen. Unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an illegal adoption agency and helps mothers find foster families for their unwanted children. With no other choice, Karoline takes on the role of a wet nurse. A strong bond develops between the two women, but Karoline’s world falls apart when she stumbles upon the shocking truth behind her work.
